Can I place a field label over a picture?

  You can do this by adding and overlapping PictureBox and a Label control. The designer will highlight the controls in red to warn you that they are overlapping, but it should still print without issue.

   

  While you have a control selected you can use Properties > Actions > Bring to Front / Send to Back (buttons) to control which one draws on top. You can alternatively control this by changing their order in the Report Explorer (far right tab)
