Monitoring of Essentials with encrypted web configs
Hi all,
I have been advised that the reason our Analytics (v1.4.3) is not picking up any Geocortex Essentials or Application resources is because their web.config files have been encrypted. This means Analytics cannot access the URLs needed to discover the Sites etc.
Is there any workaround to this, other than decrypting the web configs?
The Agents were installed on the clustered Essentials machines after the web configs were encrpyted. I have tried temporarily decrypting them and restarting all Cores, and whilst Hub then picks up most (but not all) instances of Essentials (no viewer applications, however), it reports they have no Sites, Workflows, etc.
Thanks

Hi Rob,
In order to monitor an instance of Essentials, Analytics needs to read the Essentials REST URL from the appSettings section of Manager's web.config. This is not just a one-time task for initialization, it needs to be read on every collection interval.
In Analytics 1.5, we have already included a fallback method to get the Essentials URL, but in 1.4.3 there is no other method, Manager's web.config appSettings must be available.
Thanks,
