I'm sure this is on it's way eventually, however it is one of the larger points stopping me from migrating to this viewer for our more simple applications.

 

The ability to group layers together and have them all turn on or off is a must!

    Hi Shawn,


    I'm not sure if you've already solved this but I ran into the same situation. I published a map from Pro with grouped layers to our portal and then imported the published map service to the GWV (5.2) and all my grouping was gone. I went back in to portal and opened the web map - not the web mapping application - in the portal map viewer. Here I could see my grouped layers but they were all fully expanded. I reset/minimized the grouping and then saved the map. I then refreshed the GWV and the layers were grouped as I had set them. Not the most elegant solution but it is a workaround that has allowed us to proceed with development.

    This is something we look at often and are keeping an eye on quite closely.

    The short version is that if it is supported by the webmap or webscene specification, and it works as you'd expect in the beta version of the AGOL map viewer (based on JavaScript 4.x) then you should expect it to work in Geocortex Web.

    Part of our current challenge is that some things are supported in webmaps and some aren't, and some (different) things are supported in websenes and some are not.

    Another thought for you Shawn ... depending on what you want to expose to your end users in your simple apps you might want to create a layout where you have only layer presets (they turn layers on and off so you can easily emulate a group of layers) and don't show the layer list at all.
