How do I add ArcServer Server Secured Services?

This article says we can add 3rd party or internal Server Secured services. How do I do that?

  Are Geocortex Die hards? VeritasGIS? and the general community not concerned about this direct statement from ESRI?

   

  Please tell me I can directly connect into ArcServer's and Open Spatial without having to add as a portal or AGOL item for "Web"....there are thousands of government and private systems that require this need for at least another 5 years to 10 years,

   

  "When you store your credentials for a secure service, the layer item behaves like a proxy, in that all requests to the service go through ArcGIS Online. This proxy adds some delay when accessing the service and is slower than going directly to the service.

  Hi Dylan,

   

  Geocortex Web supports secured services as you referenced above, through the use of web maps that contain those services. This process simplifies the configuration steps required within Web for administrators and allows for AGOL and Portal to handle the security settings.
