Base map doesn't show in print
At last, I got the time to create my first Printing 5 template (!) I have a point layer on top of a cached base map. The base map doesn't show in the printed pdf, and my browser console says: "Removed layer from the map definition because it's type could not be inferred". What does this mean? Why won't my base map show in the printed pdf?

Hi Jostein,
A few follow-up questions to help narrow down the possible issue:
- What is the type of the basemap that you are using?
- Is it secured using HTTPS using a valid certificate?
- What client application are you using to generate the print (GVH, GXW, WAB)?
Thanks, Stefan

Same thing is happening to me. My viewer is Html5 2.12.1, the basemap is an ImageService sitting on my ArcGIS Server, it isn't using https.

@Stefan Schweigert? I tried the same print template with an ortho shared as a mapservice instead of an imageservice (Still, http not https) and it worked?? Does printing 5 not support ImageServices?!

Hi Ryan and Jostein,
Yes, Image Services are supported but there may be an issue specific to some of the settings on your service. If you are able to provide a URL for us to reproduce the issue, that would be very useful.
Thanks, Stefan

@Stefan Schweigert?
The Image Service isn't public. Is there a way i can email you it with a token etc.? Does it have to be public for it to work? Is there a document showing what an Image Service needs to be able to render in Printing 5 layouts?

@Stefan Schweigert? , I said this was an image service, but it is a cached map service. I'll message you the url

@Ryan Periana? : Since your services are local, would you be able to provide a .HAR file or Fiddler trace when generating the print so that we can take a look at the requests?

Hi Jostein and Ryan,
Thank you for providing reproduction materials. I've forwarded on this information to our developers to take a look at.

Hi there,
We've found the source of the issue and may have a fix for the next release of Geocortex Printing.
Thanks, Stefan

Thanks Stefan.
Do you have a rough timeline for this? It seems kind of useless to be able to print large, high res plotter maps with Printing 5 that drop Imagery...?

The issue that we found from Jostein's site is related to how Esri's 4.X API handles web maps that contain WMS data alongside imagery data.
I'll check in with our developers on your issue Ryan as it appears to be slightly different.

Hi Ryan,
I got a quick answer back from our devs. The issue that you are describing is different from Jostein's. If possible, could you run a print, then access the printing logs from: C:\ProgramData\Geocortex\Printing\Jobs7 and zip up the contents and send to me?
Thanks, Stefan

I do not see this directory on the VM that Printing 5 is locally installed on.
This is the Dev tools error message I get everytime (I have tried secured, unsecured services)

@Ryan Periana? : What version of GVH are you currently using? We've fixed a number of issues in the more recent versions related to Geocortex Printing and we believe this one as well.

@Stefan Schweigert? we are on Geocortex Essentials 4.11.0. Geocortex Html5 Viewer version 2.12.1

Hi Ryan,
No luck so far on reproducing the issue. Could you try creating a site with only this imagery layer and capture the Fiddler trace from launching the viewer through to printing it?
Thanks, Stefan

Hi,
I still see the same issue with this basemap (after the 5.2 release):
The issue with WMS-data alongisde imagery data should have been fixed in the latest version, but not sure that is whats is causing the issue with this basemap...?
Thanks, Kristine

My print works now, with the wms-data and the same kind of base map as you, @Kristine Smaadal? . Maybe there are other kinds of data that can cause trouble as well

Hi Kristine,
Because of the variability in WMS data, there might be a unique case that we aren't handling properly; I'll pass it along to our dev team to take a look.
Thanks, Stefan

@Kristine Smaadal? : Can you describe what behaviour you are seeing specifically; could you provide the other service alongside this WMS?
We are able to print using that service on its own successfully with GXP 5.2 and GVH 4.12.2.
