[5.24] Date Picker: Prevent date field to turn into a text box after picking a date

Geocortex Workflow 5.24 updated the Date Picker, Date Time Picker and Time Picker form elements to use a button (rather than focus) to show and hide the calendar & time editor controls. This is consistent with the recently-added Date Range Picker.

 

After a date is picked, the date field is automatically turned into a text box with an active text cursor inside. If I want to pick another date, I have to click elsewhere in the form before I can open the Date Picker again. This causes a "one click too much"-situation for the user. I suggest:

1. Date field is not turned into textbox behavior after picking a date
2. One click on the date picker opens the date picker
3. Double click on the date picker enters the date field text box with the option to type the date as a text

  We are working on a change to make the Date Time Picker, Date Picker and Time Picker form elements behave more like the new Date Range Picker. While not exactly the proposed change you suggest, it will only require a single click to re-open the calendar. After a date is selected, you will be able to click the new "Calendar" button beside it, rather than needing to focus out and back again.
