A swipe layer function (particularly between aerial imagery) would be really useful.

  Agreed Kirsten. This request has come up a few times over the last couple of months. I'll start digging into what's available in the 4.x API and move this over to on Roadmap once I have a story written for it.

  The Esri-provided widget appears to be good enough to incorporate into Web with a minimum of effort ... it even supports keyboard controls for WCAG AA compliance (yay!).

  Is the “completed” status due to the time slider being implemented? it would still be nice if there was a swipe widget that the user could +/- their own chosen layers from. we have many aerials, and my users want to be able to pick two to toggle between quickly to see changes. they're far apart on the time slider so it's difficult at the moment.
