Will there be a feature for AddData or AddCatalog layers anytime soon?
If there already is a module, could you point me to it for this? Hoping for an out-of-the-box module instead of a workflow to be added to all sites.

Are you looking for this functionality implemented in GVH or Web?
In GVH, you can use a workflow that contains a Run Command activity and executes the AddCatalogLayers and UploadData activities.
In Web, the 5.8 release has the ability to upload data planned from a number of data source types, which can be executed through workflow, once available. Adding catalog layers is not currently scheduled for a release in the near future but if you are interested, could be added to the Ideas section, if not already present.

Web. Currently use the addlayercatalog features in GVH. Looking for a parody in Web from the 5 Series. Would be great to feed it from the portal content. IE personal content, organizational content with similar data structure that you find in Portal via their built in add data widget. @Stefan Schweigert? , I did add something like this to the web ideas board.

Hi Melanie - There is now an "Add Layer" tool that will let your users add layers directly from your Portal. We are finishing up some work now (for 5.12 - April 2021) that will allow you as the application creator to filter what shows up for your end users by specifying a number of tags (which gives you equivalent control to our previous layer catalog capability in GE/GVH).
