How to link two or more maps?

How do I setup linkage between two or more maps in the new 5-series web viewer. I've looked at both the 2D-3D Information Access and the Compass Point templates but can't see how the panning/zooming of one map updates the extent/view of another map.

 

I also can't find any reference in the documentation.

  Hi Ben,

  To sync maps's extent/view with another, it can be done via map's "models" attribute.

  e.g.

  Can i just confirm with you that there isn't a way to do this in the web viewer designer UI and you need to edit the xml file you have shown?

   

  My next question is how do I access that xml, edit it and apply it back to my application?

  Hi Ben,

   

  You're correct. No configurable UI provided in designer. It needs to be configured in xml file via download/upload tool.
