How to get charts from LA County Demographics query into report

I've never added a chart to a report before, but we would like to make charts generated in the Demographics Query workflow available in a report.

 

 

I'm trying to follow along with the tutorial found here (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCkbaDetail?sub-nav=kba&main-nav=essentials&id=kA6f200000091JBCAY) and the first that thing stumps me is that the Chart Control doesn't have a pie chart, just a donut chart?

 

 

Beyond that, any info is much appreciated!

  OK, I figured out how to change the hole in the donut chart to make it a pie chart, but I'm still not sure how to build the data series.

   

  More specifically, is there a way to add a chart to a report without needing a connection string? I already have the chart I want in the workflow.
