What features can be identified in GxM?

I have a web map that includes both map services and feature services and I am able to identify all of the feature services but only one of the map services despite the fact I cannot see any difference between the map services. Why might this be? It is not to do with the identify settings in GxM I do not think because these are all set to allow identify operations on all layers.

  Hi Harry,

   

  Can you confirm the popups are enabled and configured for the layers within the map service as they are not enabled by default? Feature layers have popups configured by default, which makes them preconfigured to be identifiable.

  Hi Stefan,

  That's exactly what I was missing thank you! I also had one application that did not have a results component but had map services configured with pop ups so that added to my confusion as well.

  The main reason for being able to identify feature services over map services was to be able to retain the layer grouping in the Web Map, but we will also need to take the web map offline so will need to add feature services anyway for this purpose.
