RELEASED: Web 5.18

When promoting a change using the web designer deploy tools, I thought it may be interesting to be able to trigger an event (before or after) that promotion. A workflow could be wired into event that would do a number of things things (as workflow can be configured to do) like pop up a form that forced the admin to add release notes, sent a notification email to members of a portal group, log details to a database so you can track change, etc.

  This is a very interesting idea.

  I can definitely see the utility of it.

  When we think of 'events' we are usually thinking of Geocortex Web itself.

  Today, Geocortex Web Designer knows nothing of 'how to run a Workflow', so we'd have to do some thinking.

  I'm moving this over to 'On Roadmap' because it is a great idea ... but no idea how long it might take to address this.
