Windows-integrated security for Geocortex Web
Non planifiéeI'm wondering if there are other customers like us who rely on Windows-integrated logins as the primary way to share your apps with your users?
The last time I checked in on the roadmap for Geocortex Web, including Windows-integrated security as a provider wasn't in the product plan. If this is still the case, it's going to be a major hurdle for us to transition, perhaps even a showstopper for some of the things we do with our apps.
We don't have an Esri ELA, so switching over to ArcGIS Online for our entire organization would be prohibitively expensive. I'm honestly not sure how much we could do with Level 1 users if we were to implement Portal. But even if that would work, it's frustrating to think we'd have to add additional servers, federation, maintenance, etc. just to preserve existing functionality.
We've been customers long enough to have gone through the transition from Silverlight to HTML5. I understand that the world is a-changing, and we have to change with it. But how we provide access to our applications is such a core necessity that I would hope there's room to maintain existing functionality and not force customers to jump through unnecessary hoops to continue using Geocortex products.

In the spirit of what you are asking, you are correct. There are no current plans for VertiGIS to write our own security provider for Geocortex Web. Instead we are relying on Esri's security provider; which does support IWA.

Thanks for the link, Cam. This is probably an Esri question, but since I have this post started I'll ask anyway. Do you know if there's a license type or level required to use this functionality within portal? Still wondering about if this is going to end up requiring an ELA or not.
