Integrated project saving/sharing in GXW similar to GE/GVH
TerminéeRELEASED: Web 5.24
I would like to see improved project saving in GXW, with a similar interface to GE/GVH.
The value of Geocortex for our organization is that it provides a GIS workspace that is accessible to all our internal users, without the need for Creator licenses for the entire organization. It's 2021, and we're implementing GE/GVH solely because GXW lacks this functionality. The JSON file export is not a workable solution for us.
Even if it were on-premises only, I would like to see a better solution to project saving/sharing implemented for GXW.

Agreed. Our thinking here is that at some point we will allow you to save your project as an Esri portal item. This allows for Esri's native sharing options (private, with org, public, or with a group) to be used. This also allows us to give end users an interface using our portal item picker to locate projects of interest that they have permission to see.

Thanks Cam. I would like to stress that there should be an option to save projects independent of Portal.
The value proposition of Geocortex for my organization, and previous organizations where I have implemented it, is that it democratizes GIS and allows us to provide all users with functionality to meet their needs. Saving projects is a central feature all users need to have available. Moving project saving to Portal would likely require Creators for all users, which is prohibitively expensive.

Is the saving projects to Portal functionality now available ?

There is a shared projects component now available that provides the UI to allow finding, filtering, sharing, etc. of project with others. It is not backed by an Esri portal (that would have required every user who wanted to save a project to be a Creator user type) ... instead it is backed by S3 compatible blob storage (can be in the cloud or on prem depending on your needs).

Hi Cam, I wonder if there were any updates or workarounds, as much as the S3 Save Storage Option is useful, the security functionality is quite lacking.
