How to set default buffer units/distance?

We are able to get the default units and distance for geometry with geometry.get-buffer-*
Is there a way to set them without using geometry.show-settings? The modal is confusing to users as there is no okay or submit button.
Other option is a workflow but still can't set after a user buffer through workflow and its just easier with the web commands

We will be adding a 'Done' button to this dialog.
We didn't originally have one because the settings are applied immediately.

I have a similar question. Is there a way to hide some of the geometry.display-settings? The users do not want to see the measurement system and the check box for 'Is geodesic'. These should be set to 'metric' and 'is geodesic' by default. So the question is if some of the geometry.display-settings can be hidden?

Both the “Done” button and the possibilities to hide some of the setting would be very useful for us too.
The dialog confuses our customers and their users greatly.
Now the last comment was two years ago – is there any updates?
