Deployment env variable for server workflow activity
TerminéeRELEASED: Web 5.17
Hi,
I love the new deployment feature for web apps between ArcGIS Portals. I have tested the deployment and it is perfect for my workflow and it definitely saves a lot of work in comparison with a manually deployment process.
One thing which I have not been ably to do is updating a Send Web Request activity for a server workflow.
Configuration details:
- My VertiGIS Studio web app is used in a test and production environment (T-P)
- The app contains a client workflow which triggers a server workflow.
- The server workflow contains a Send Web Request activity, which make an env specific API call
My question: can I use the concept of environment variables to update the url argument of the Send Web Request activity? So far I have not succeeded to get this working yet.
Best regards,
Laurens

Yes there is an issue filed for this. When we first built d-t-p and the environment values, we restricted what was processed for the environment variables to the app's JSON values, and the webmap and webscene JSON values. The workflow use case wasn't in view. I think we will go ahead and update this in the next (5.17) release so that the JSON values in the workflow also go through the search/replace filter with the environment values.

Hi Laurens,
I've had the same issue. None of the url's in my WF5's get updated, despite having environment variables or setup the cross portal deployment. I've had it confirmed by Vertigis (through AAM) that its a bug. The only workaround is to manually edit your workflows each time you do the deployment. I've had no word on when/if it will be fixed.

Woohoo! That would be great to get it fixed. Thanks Cam - it will save me editing multiple workflows.
