Through the ability of Editor Tracking, to be able to capture the IWA user who is logged into the viewer
Hi everyone,
Notes regarding software versions:
• Version GE 4.14.2,
• Version viewer HTML5 4.14.2
• AGS 10.8.1
Purpose: Through the ability of Editor Tracking, to be able to capture the IWA user who is logged into the viewer.
The settings I have made are as follows:
- I have enabled the Windows Impersonation option;
- The ArcGIS Server is configured with Web Tier Integrated with Windows Authentication (IWA);
- A Feature Service has been published with a layer stored in a Database that is authenticated with Windows Authentication;
- Geocortex Essentials is configured with Web Tier Integrated with Windows Authentication (IWA);
- The service has been added to Geocortex Essentials and is being validated by an IWA user;
- In Permissions, see the two cases I present below.
- The user running the APP Pool is the APP Pool Identity.
I ran several tests to try to find out the anomalous behavior, and I think I have identified the situation at the Permissions level. I present two scenarios to explain what is happening.
• Case A: The IWA user that is logged into the viewer is captured in the Editor Tracking (expected behavior).
o If we assign denied permissions to the Guest user
o If we assign access permissions to one ou more IWA user(s)
• Case B: The IWA user who is logged into the viewer is no longer captured in Editor Tracking, but the user running Application Pool on IIS is captured.
o If we assign denied permissions to the Guest user
o If we assign access permissions to an IWA user
o If we assign denied permissions to the second or other IWA users
Has anyone identified this anomaly in this version of GE and viewer? What have you done to correct it? Has this behavior always existed or is it only in this version?
I would appreciate an answer to this question because we have a customer that is waiting for a solution to the detected problem.
Thank you very much.
Best regards
