Login over 4G
We're evaluating Geocortex Mobile, so I hope it's okay to post to this area forum. We're using an eval license provided by AAM Group.
In prototyping an on-prem Geocortex Mobile environment that's external facing, we can connect successfully via our Portal using Studio Go from an IOS 15 device (iPhone) hooked to WLAN. If we switch off WLAN to force the device to connect to the Internet over the Telstra 4G cellular network, the connection isn't successful. The link is successful. however, if we combine the iPhone with another iPhone using a hotspot where the hotspot host connects to the Internet using the same 4G network.
We have an older iPad that doesn't show this problem, and it can connect to the same Geocortex Mobile environment over the 4G network (albeit using a different Telstra account and SIMM).
Could this be a problem with later versions of iOS 15, or could it be something in the IP address or DNS the phone gets assigned when it connects over 4G compared to when it connects to the Internet over WLAN?
I've experimented with all the settings related to Mobile Data and in Studio Go without much success. I'm hoping to demo the proposed solution to our executive leadership team next week to help get a business case going to buy multiple seats of Geocortex Mobile.

Hi Graham - can you confirm for me what version of Studio Go you experienced this on?

The iPhone I'm testing with has iOS 15.4.1 and Studio Go 5.170.371 but I get the same result with another phone owned by one our contractors which has the same versions.
The older iPad where it's working has iOS 15.2 and Studio Go 5.15.1.618 (still named Geocortex Go). It's using a different login account at Telstra - a corporate account where the APN name is telstra.wap. My phone uses a personal account with an APN of telstra.Internet. I'm not sure that's relevant though.
The iPhone displays the Portal login screen and seems to accept the username and password using a Portal account. I can get to everything published in prototype Portal from Safari or Chrome on the iPhone, including all Geocortex Essentials sites, all the ArcGIS Enterprise map and feature services and published apps such as VertiGIS Studio Workflow and VertiGIS Studio Mobile (still named on our systems as Geocortex Mobile 5.13.0) we used to build the test apps.
Gareth Evans suggested a TLS or SSL certificate problem. Logging into Portal from Safari at the same time as Studio Go has no effect.
I could upgrade the app on iPad but I'm scared that it might stop working as we only have the eval license for Mobile to 30 June.

Hi Graham
This is an issue that was raised a few months ago - which we specifically fixed in our 5.16.1 release. Unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce this connection problem in North America - so we had to rely on AAM to help us troubleshoot and to verify the fix (which we did).
It seems possible that subsequent changes in our 5.17 'undid' the fix - I'll have the team explore this today.
No need to do further troubleshooting on your end. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hi again
Just wanted to close the loop on this discussion. We explored the code changes and have re-established the fix. This has been confirmed by AAM (since we are unable to reproduce locally) and should be available in our next release (scheduled for 22 June).

Hi Cam,
I tested the new version yesterday and confirm that VertiGIS Studio mobile is working with our on-prem eval license from iPhone / iPad with either 4G or WLAN connections. Well done!
