Yes! Our utility minded users have been asking for this one for a while.  Some client's have ditched the basemaps on some apps due to the weird scaling. When our engineering enter 1:50 feet the scale changes and items get cut off on the prints.

Some of our customer also have this question to have configuration settings for the scale.

We also have customers asking for this based on the specific national tiling scheme standards

Most of our users don't have a background in GIS so don't understand the ‘strange' default scales. The ability to configure settings for scale would definitely be nice to have.

Agree. it would be nice to make pretty scale levels. More importantly, we have so many basemaps and many aren't owned by us directly, so it's not feasible to have to recreate all of them to allow closer scales. Particularly with prints, users want to be able to type in a scale level that's super close even if it just uses the existing basemap tile from a higher scale. It would be way too much to have to cache each basemap all the way down to 1:20. I've enabled resampling down to 20 on the service, but Studio Web still doesn't allow me to zoom in that far.

    Very needed at the customer

This is not just important for cached basemaps, but also image services that are used as basemaps. We currently use an image service for our Geocortex basemap so users aren't locked into set scales. When I use that same image service as the basemap for VertiGIS I get random scales that are meaningless to our users.

Yes our customer is also requesting to configure the scale input to overwrite the default from the base map!

This would be a major improvement for us!
On the scale of the basemap, which is implemented in the Webmap it is possible to activate “Snap to Zoom”. This setting is missing on all the added basemaps, which are the same type and same spatial reference system.
So changing to any of the additional basemap brings changes from the even scales to standard (odd) scale numbers.

It would be very useful for my organization to be able to manipulate the scale input within a VS Web viewer. One of our viewers requires lots of print outs to be made and it is difficult to show everything needed within a 11 x 17 print with the limited scale options. It would be great if our users could choose between more scales that are between the numbered scales already given. The best case scenario would be if they could input any number into the scale input like how it is in ArcPro.

Defining scales is a core GIS function and must be available in our WebGIS. This is really very important for us !
