Run workflow by name

The run workflow activity has the URL of a workflow as input, e.g. https://example.com/portal/home/item.html?id=678da20da5044abca68b0df12f4555d9. Besides being unreadable and incomprehensible, this URL would change when porting a viewer to a different environment, and we'd need to check all instances where Run Workflow is used.

It would be useful in both Web and Mobile, to have a central location where workflows for a viewer are configured, similar to how workflows were organized in Geocortex Essentials. Each workflow could have a descriptive name or ID, which could then be used to invoke it.

(Extra idea: The workflow names could be registered automatically as Operations or Commands, so that we could simply use the Run Operation or Run Command activities)

  Hi Berend - the dtp and environment values should take care of any difference when deploying between environments.

  No immediate plans to provide a name-based lookup table (since we'd still need the actual IDs for all workflows).

  If you've never poked at it, the Launch Link Workflows service may give you part of what you are looking for as it is a single place to pre-register a number of workflows to your app.
