Limiting fields which can be edited in VSW
RéponduGreetings,
I'm wondering if it's possible to limit what fields the user is able to edit? I am starting from the best practices article listed in the documentation. The article points to the optional settings you can use along edit.display-update-feature operation: https://developers.vertigisstudio.com/docs/web/api-commands-operations-events/#definition-DisplayUpdateFeatureArgs. I'm wondering if some of these, for example featureAttributes or attributes, would be usable to restrict the fields that are editable for the end user?
I'm at the SaaS version and this would of course be possible adding a WF or limiting the editing of fields in feature service, but I want to know if it's possible out of the box.
Thanks!

Hi Birk,
Yes. You can define a form for editing in the web map, and only include the fields you want the user to fill out:
Create forms for attribute editing (Map Viewer)—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation
Our viewer will pick up this configuration and use it when editing features.
Hope this helps!

Hi
I just tried to restrict editing of field attributes but experience that VertiGIS Studio Web does not completely follow the settings in the form made in the Web Map
I have tried changing the visibility and whether it is editable or not. However, I experience that when setting it to not editable but still shown it becomes greyed out. which is good. However, when then trying to hide the non-editable layers they are still shown. Further, the help text I am writing does not show either. Therefore, not all settings are actually working and being picked up by the viewer
Anyone knows anything on this?
