Allowing Ports to be created directly in Network Elements
A Network Element can only have slots in it, not ports.
When a chassis device is modeled as a Network Element, this limitation prevents us from accurately modeling fixed ports in a device (non-pluggable ports such as those you would find on a dedicated network switch).
Allowing ports to be built directly in Network Elements would allow the user to represent real devices more accurately.
