Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Mobile 5.42
This release of VertiGIS Studio Mobile is focused on empowering field users with better control over their offline data and delivering stability improvements across the application. This version introduces advanced offline synchronization capabilities, updates to our core infrastructure components, and substantial improvements to cross-platform layout stability and touch interactions.
✨ New Features
Enhanced Local Data Management: We have expanded the capabilities of the Local Data Manager to give users more autonomy over their device storage.
- Update Map Areas: Users can now update their downloaded Map Areas directly within the Local Data Manager, improving the lifecycle management of offline datasets without needing to fully delete and re-download them. [185246]
- Update Offline Basemaps: Added the capability to update downloaded Basemaps (TPK, VTPK, TPKX) directly in the Local Data Manager, ensuring field workers always have the latest reference data. [364354]
- On-Demand Layer Refresh: Added support for the Refresh Layer workflow activity, enabling programmatic data syncs on specific map layers without requiring a full application reload. [331674]]
🚀 Technology & Performance Upgrades
This release includes updates to our core technology stack to improve rendering stability and scripting power:
- Workflow Engine Modernization: Updated Studio Workflow to version 5.50. [368663]
- UI Foundation Upgrade: Upgraded the Syncfusion UI library to version 33.2.6, providing better cross-platform rendering stability. [378763]
Bug Fixes
This release includes a wide range of fixes that enhance stability and usability, with a specific focus on cross-platform layout rendering, workflow interactions, and offline robustness.
UI Layout & Interactions: Significant improvements were made to cross-platform visual stability. We resolved issues with missing safe-area padding on iOS panels [291430] and flickering navigation buttons on iOS 26 devices [369965]. On Android, we fixed bugs where text titles were cut off [335045], IWTM panels failed to account for user box height [299517], and action buttons were obscured by the taskbar [300127]. We also corrected stubborn touch gesture issues where iOS scrolling accidentally closed panels [354610] and Android scroll views failed on first launch [354611]. Finally, a stray "0" character was removed from the App Designer Environment Values panel [380938].
Workflow & Forms: We have addressed several interactivity and data retrieval issues within Workflow. The 'get-edits' operation now correctly returns results for features nested within grouped layers [376459]. We fixed issues where "Hide if Disabled" configurations failed to remove disabled feature actions [347174] and disabled workflows remained visible [339195]. Form behavior was also stabilized; programmatically setting dependent drop-down values now works correctly on Android [359191], and footers no longer misplace themselves when multiple elements are revealed [359195].
Offline Data & Stability: Several edge-case crashes and data handling errors were resolved. We fixed an issue where the first IWA authentication attempt crashed iOS and looped Android following a previous portal sign-out [382501], and corrected Windows authentication failures when parsing specific enterprise portal URLs [381362]. Local Data Manager file system exceptions occurring during background syncing were resolved [380061], along with a NullReferenceException when opening it in custom apps [381096]. Additionally, we fixed bugs where MMPK layers were permanently removed after a 'map.refresh' command [374230] and custom map area configurations were cleared when switching apps after an MMPK download [379848].
