Sort Related Records based on Field from Server Workflow Data Link

I am looking to see how I could sort related records obtained by a Server-side Data Link workflow connecting to a SQL database.

I would like to have the records appear already sorted by an application date field. I've adjusted the SqlQuery Command Text in the Workflow to include ORDER BY Date_Application DESC.

However, it does not appear to adjust the Related Records when pushed to the map. Has anyone accomplished similar? Ideally, I don't want to have to adjust the data in the database itself.
