VertiGIS Studio SaaS Printing gen1 deprecation

In January 2026 our long-awaited SaaS version gen2 Printing was delivered. 
We are delighted with early results and feedback.

It is now possible to use gen2 VertiGIS Studio Printing (VSP) both on-premises and in the Studio SaaS environment.

The gen2 version of VertiGIS Studio Printing provides many advantages

• It is based upon Esri’s ArcGIS Pro Layout technology
• It has significantly better print speed and print throughput than gen1 VSP
• It supports the latest Esri layer technologies such as subtype group layers and vector tile layers
• It supports new print output options including line-based and grid-based multi-page prints and multi-page infinite legends

If you are using the SaaS version of VSP, it is time to switch from gen1 to gen2.

As of March 2026, we are officially deprecating the gen1 VSP print engine within the Studio SaaS environment.

You have twelve months to make the switch.
This does NOT affect you if you are using an on-premises version of VSP.
This DOES affect you if you are relying upon VSP in the Studio SaaS environment to print.

In March 2027, we will remove the gen1 VSP print endpoint from the Studio SaaS environment.

What are the implications? In March 2027

• You still have access to the gen1 VSP SaaS Designer and the ability to convert gen1 print templates to gen2 print layouts.
• Attempts to print a gen1 print template via the removed gen1 VSP SaaS infrastructure will fail with an error.

Make the switch soon and enjoy all the new benefits of gen2 VSP in the Studio SaaS environment.
