VGN Locator (EU): Easier way to diagnose errors
CompletedA customer requests that there should be an easier way to diagnose errors in Locator.
For example, when a job, such as print, dxf-export, or create dynamic document, fails in process manager, the admin currently receives an e-mail stating that the job has failed. The actual error message is contained in the logs of the process manager pod. This error message should be directly included in the error e-mail.
In a production environment, the admin receiving the e-mail will likely not have access to the Kubernetes service or the knowledge to work with those logs. Many simple problems such as typos in dynamic documents could already be resolved if the error message is forwarded.

Starting with Networks Locator v1.9 we have improved the error mail and added much more specific information.

Additionally, Networks Locator follows the standard cloud-native approach of exposing operational details through centralized monitoring and logging rather than duplicating them in email notifications.
To help administrators diagnose issues, we've added documentation covering the monitoring and observability capabilities available in a Kubernetes deployment: https://docs.vertigis.com/network-locator-eu/latest/en/monitoring-and-observability.html
These tools provide access to the complete error context, which is often more useful than a single exception message included in an email.
