Add Rectangle to Geometry Picker activity options?
PlannedThis has been questioned here in this post, https://support.vertigis.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/11497649500434-No-Rectangle-or-multi-point-option-for-Geometry-Picker but I thought I'd add the request to the Ideas section to see if we can bump this up a little perhaps?
The select by rectangle is a quick way of dragging a small selection area to use in the picker. It beats drawing a polygon manually, and the extent option as mentioned in the attached post, is not really the same thing. Our users just want to quickly draw a shape that's big enough to encompass the desired selection set, and the rectangle is an easy way of doing this.
Could this be considered please.

Yes, we can do this. I agree clicking two points is a lot quicker. I'm not sure why we didn't have this initially.

Thanks Ken Lyon - much appreciated. Maybe add a select by circle to the list as well?
and, at the risk of getting greedy - could you potentially consider the option of allowing more than one selection type to be shown to the user? Like it used to be in the Essentials Workflow?
or am I pushing the friendship here a little : )
thanks again

Gareth Finney I also logged the circle one. We may be able to do them at the same time. I got pretty close to a working proof of concept, although oddly you need to measure the distance between the two points as a Circle constructor requires a radius.
I think for now I'm going to stick with the status quo that a particular geometry picker only deals with a single type of geometry. One complication would be how the “add” button would behave if it supported more than one. It'd need additional UX consideration. As it stands, though, I think you should be able to list a combination of them in an Item Picker.

Thank for that Ken Lyon .
And yeah, I didn't think of displaying more than one option in a drop down list. That's not a bad workaround!
