Customize splash screen / Only close when startup workflow is ended.
Hi,
Is there a way to influence the new functionlity of the splash screen?
Currently we can set it up but the screen will already be faded even if the full layout and startupworkflow havn't finished.
Can we have it set, that the splash screen only fades after a certain event has taken place?

Hi Andreas Broothaerts I took a look at the source code for the splash screen implementation, it looks like it is currently hard-coded to a 4000ms duration and is not overridable.
I filed this as a quick user story as this has come up from others in discussion previously, I filed it as story 310064: “Enhanced Control for Splash Screen Closure”2 -

Hi Andreas Broothaerts thanks for reaching out. The status is that the product team have validated this user story, and will be implementing a configurable duration of display, rather than a full event system. It has not yet been targeted for a specific release of VSW.

What would be the reason for having it to a certain duration and not to an event?
Loading the viewer behind a splash screen till it is actually loaded seems like that would be the goal of a splash screen?

While event-based loading would indeed be an elegant solution, we're currently taking an iterative approach that balances user experience improvements with our broader development priorities. The duration-based implementation allows us to deliver an enhanced loading experience sooner, while keeping the option open for future optimizations.
