Exposure or utilizing custom "live labels" with measurements/sketching.

When working with Operations/Commands there are some great components such as sketching.x and measurement.x capabilities.

I'm hoping there is a way to expose the “live labels” found in the measurement operations so we can customize those are utilize them for other operations.
What is the best method to work with and customize these live labels?
Even access to how to create the labels within Workflow that are created when drawing or finishing a measurement/sketch would be good.
