Bing Maps for Enterprise is deprecated and will be retired
I've recently come across an announcement regarding the deprecation and retirement of Bing Maps for Enterprise. Here are the key points from the statement:
- Bing Maps for Enterprise is deprecated and will be retired.
- Enterprise account customers can continue using Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30, 2028.
- Free (Basic) account customers can continue using Bing Maps for Enterprise services until June 30, 2025.
- To avoid service disruptions, all implementations using Bing Maps for Enterprise REST APIs and SDKs need to be updated to Azure Maps by the retirement date. For migration documentation, see Bing Maps Migration Overview. For more details on the retirement, see the announcement on the Bing Maps Blog.
Given this information, I have a few questions regarding the impact on Geocortex Essentials:
- How will this retirement affect service connections to Bing Maps in Geocortex Essentials, specifically for the different map types such as Road, Aerial, and Aerial with Labels?
- What are the recommended steps or best practices for migrating from Bing Maps to Azure Maps within the Geocortex Essentials environment?
- Will there be a Geocortex Essentials fix the the Bing Basemap connections?
Any insights or detailed guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
