Print PDFs with Vector Data in Map Picture Box Instead of a Raster Image
It would be a great improvement to the quality of printed maps, if they were to use vector data in the Map Picture Box portion of the pdf output of the prints in VertiGIS Studio.
Currently, the way printing works is by taking the webmap one wants to print and creating a raster image that then is inserted into the Map Picture Box part of the output pdf (with a max resolution of 300 dpi). This results in a print that is of much lower quality than the webmap it is based on (especially if using a vector tile basemap). By incorporating vector data in the output of the print component, lines would be lines, polygons would be polygons, and text would be text. With pdfs containing vector data, the map could then be scaled up to any size print the user would want and still produce a good-looking product.
I have spoken with support staff about this and have been told that this functionality is not currently planned. Please as this function to your product.

Highly agree - this should be pushed forward, it would be incredibly useful to have the ability to print the vector version.
Thank you!

This would be a great value add for us as a planning department, and the wide range of users to make these higher quality prints.
