Query data source menu sorted alphabetically
In Geocortex we were able to organise the query tool 'Data Source' menu alphabetically. Is this possible with the Studio Web query tool? At the moment it's in the layer list order.
Thanks

Hi Helen Dornan!
The Query Builder doesn't currently have configuration to display layers alphabetically OOTB.
Though, the operation query-builder.display-query does take setQueryArgs so you could massage your input using Workflow - though that may be heavy handed for your use case.
For context, our product team is working on improving the Query Builder, and your feedback is important for this development.
Hypothetically I’m wondering if a basic “sortAlphabetically” argument would suffice here, where if set to true, the Data Source list in the Query Builder would automatically be sorted in alphabetical order. This would provide a consistent, organized view for users, making it easier to locate specific layers. Would that work for you?

Thanks Gareth. Yes a 'sortAlphabetically' would be just what we need!

Hi,
Just wondering if the idea of having “sortAlphabetically” argument has been implemented in the next release of VSW?
Thanks.

Any word on this? We need for Query and Filter Builder to somehow alter the order of data source display (alphabetically at a minimum).

Also looking for an update, I support the “sortAlphabetically” argument.

Also looking for an update, “sortAlphabetically” argument would be fine.

Hi,
“sortAlphabetically” for query builder has been asked for by our end users and I was looking for an update on this item. It would help make the tool much easier to navigate through.
Thank you!

Same here - a “sortAlphabetically” argument in the Filter and Query Builder would be really useful!

Please implement this. It makes it easier to find when you have a lot of layers.
