Hey Eric Kriener that could be the default document in IIS is disabled. Do you know if that's the case for you?

I'm pretty sure it's enabled, Gareth Evans.

do I need to add something for search?

Hey Eric Kriener not to my knowledge, the expected behaviour is that you hit /designer/ and get the designer. I'd describe this as unexpected behaviour.

I'm also in the process of deploying Search on-prem for our own VertiGIS Studio demo environment, I'll let you know if my experience differs. Until now, I've been referring to the SaaS deployment (https://apps.vertigisstudio.eu/search/designer/)

    Hey Eric Kriener

Deployed on my end without issue. I discussed with our product team about potential causes here, the two that came up:

    • IIS Default document disabled (we confirmed this isn't the case)
    • Another one is the SSL binding not enabled in IIS (e.g. IIS > Bindings > 443 binding should have an SSL cert). You could confirm this exists by browsing to https://<myserver>/ - we should see a valid HTTPS response. I imagine based on your description this is the case!

Independent of other potential reasons, what we're looking for is a %windir%\system32\inetsrv\config\applicationHost.config file with 2 entries like that

if those are in an up-and-running IIS, on a website with SSL binding with the correct virtual directory name (path) and install location (physical path) it should honour the redirect to webapp when calling designer.

If those are in there, there's value in getting our hands on your applicationhost.config. If you're not getting anywhere, please contact me by email at gareth.evans at vertigis dot com.
