Data Layer - Multiple Group Layers (scale visibility)
Hello, Hopefully I'll explain things correctly and someone may have an answer. I'm new to the GIS world, so please bear with me. We're running GeoCortex 2.2.1. We're converting our old ArcIMS website to a ArcGIS Server/SDE/Image server setup with GeoCortex as the front end. Here's where I'm hoping for some assistance and suggestions. We have a Roads layer and under this there are multiple group layers for different scales (120,000 & up; 60,001 - 120,000, etc.). This way, certain things/looks are turned on/off at different scales. When we publish this map server on our GISServer and then add the map resource into the Essentials Manager, all these seperate layers are also added to the layers list. My question is, how do I only display one layer in the layers lists but the proper layers are displayed at their respective scales? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.. -Jeff

Hi Jeff, I'd suggest grabbing the whole group layer over to the layer list and setting it to collapsed when the site loads. This will only display the group layer by default (with the option to expand the sub-layers at an additional step for the user). 0 -
Hello Flo, The other people in our office have been able to get this working as you suggested. But, we'd like to hide all the sublayers so that only one layer is shown (we're able to do this in ArcIMS and the AXL file). So if they turn on/off the roads layer, it'll hide/show it depending on the scale we're looking at. Thanks.. -Jeff 0
