provide sample workflow scenarios for workflow designer

I think the workflow designer is really great and I am starting to explore it, but the documentation isn't there for a non programmer such as myself. 

I think some sample scenarios, that combine many elements in the workflow designer toolbox would be really helpful.

A simple example:

My users want to be able to determin how many acres of BLM land are within a user screen digitized polygon.   I believe you would need to intersect screen digitized polygons with active layers and then create an area report of the results and add the resultant intersected polygons to the display.

how would one use the workflow designer for this workflow?

This example would provide a lot of insite into using the workflow designer more effectively to meet user needs.

I am sure there are many more examples to be built.
