Reordering Map Layers
I am trying to reorder the layers in my map. I reordered them in my MXD. Recreated the MSD. Stopped/started the service in ArcServer. Reloaded the site in Essentials. And.....nothing changed in the map.
What step am I missing to get it to reflect in my map? I don't see a tool in Essentials that allows me to reorder the layers the way I want them.
I have the newest versions of everything, as I just installed everything last week.
Thank you,

Hi Jessica,
Try clearing the REST API cache:
In a browser, go to http://YourServerName/ArcGIS/rest/admin
Login using the same user/password that you use to login to ArcGIS Server Manager. Click "Clear Cache Options", and then click "Clear Cache Now".

Thank you, I tried that, but it didn't work. I still get the same layer order on the map, no change. Got any other ideas?

Try clearing the browser cache as well:
Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Delete browsing history (delete Temporary Internet Files)
Firefox: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20clear%20the%20cacheAre you wanting to change the draw order of layers, or the order of the layer names in the layer list? If you want to change the order in the layer list, you can move the layers around in the Site.xml.
Thanks,

What actually ended up working: under the add/remove layers section, I had to exclude every layer in the list; apply changes and save the site.
Then I went and included all of the layers; applied the changes, and saved the site, and then all of the layers reflected the order as per the MXD.
Thank you for the other tips though, I will keep those for future troubleshooting tips.
Jessica
