ESRI legend dijit, Essentials Javascript API and the broader picture
Hello there, does anyone know, or have any example code showing, how to integrate the ESRI legend dijit into an essentials site? I'm really struggling to see where I should be accessing ESRI functionality and Essentials functionality, particularly in terms of where I access layer objects/properties. Basically we have a mapping website designed using the ESRI Javascript API and ultimately we would like to add value to it by including Essentials components such as printing, named extents, reports, workflows... We're evaluating the continued use of Essentials based on it's abilities to fit in with some of our existing sites. Our intention is to deploy a suite of flagship mapping applications hopefully incorporating the Essentials Silverlight viewer and our own alternative. What we've done is written our own Javascript Viewer application to provide an alternative plugin-less experience for our citizens and see the Silverilght offering as our advanced application. It would be advantageous for us to take advantage of the existing Essentials functionality rather than having to develop our own. Is it possible to utilise all the ESRI API functionality including dijits when working with the Essentials API? Sorry for rambling on but i'm kinda stuck and need a prod in the right direction. Many thanks, David
