Coordinate Tools - DMS format
I have a question about the Plot Coordinates tool. When a user wants to plot coordinates using DMS, it seems like the only format that will work uses the symbols (37<degree symbol> 10' 26"). I don't know the keyboard shortcut to the degree symbol, and more importantly I doubt any of my users do either. The only workaround I've found is to cut and paste the symbol from the coordinate window itself. Why can't they just type the coordinates using a space between elements instead of the symbols? Am I missing something obvious?

Sorry, it's the Enter Coordinates tool, not Plot.

Hi Heather,
Have a look at this thread: http://support.geocortex.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=7&thread=45538&postid=131357

Thanks for the suggestion Heather. The viewer will likely accept spaces or periods in the future when entering DMS coordinates.

Thank you for the pointer, Colin. That'll teach me not to search first. Alt 0176
I'd like to further note that the key combo only works on a numeric keypad, not the number keys across the top of the keyboard. Therefore it's almost impossibly cumbersome on a laptop, where you would need to turn on the numlock function, then peck out the numbers.
Thank you Jason for the info on future releases, too. I am glad to hear that the suggestions will possibly be implemented to make the tool more user friendly.
