Are company resources still being applied to the JavaScript API?
I noticed that the last forum post was Dec 2010. So, I'm just wonding if anybody is still putting effort into the JavaScript API, or are all efforts going to Silverlight and Flex?

We are currently working on adding Forms support to the JavaScript API as well as including some of the features that have been added to the Flex and Silverlight APIs such as deep initialization.
JavaScript will be an integral part of our mobile offering.
Stay Tuned.

Are you planning on continuing with your non-mobile JavaScript development (i.e. desktop web browser) or is it going to work for both?
Also, do you have a rough idea as a general timeline when it will be out (week, weeks, months...)
Mike.

Hi Mike,
It will work for both mobile and desktop. Our key goal is to ensure that our workflow technology is supported in all APIs.
I can't confirm a timeline right now, but get in touch with your account manager to discuss your needs for the JavaScript API. You might be able to participate in a beta period before the actual release.
Cheers,
Christian.

I can't wait for the Javascript viewer, it will tick a number of boxes for us:
- mobile support (key for our emergency management maps)
- phone support (key to support mobile data collection for damage inspections in floods, cyclones, fires, etc.)
- accessibility support (key for public government sites)
I'm Excited!!!

I’m in total agreement.
A HTML / javaScript viewer would be fantastic!
Not only for all the reasons Stephen points out, but also being able to leverage our developer’s existing skill sets would be a huge advantage for us.
Our developers have many years of experience using HTML & javascript, doing web development and using the IMF mapping application.
