Very long viewer URLs

I am using Essentials 3.5 with the Silverlight viewer 1.3.  When I launch a viewer from a site's configuration in Manager, the URL that shows up in the browser is very long like the following:

http://<server>/SilverlightViewer/Viewer.html?ViewerConfig=http://<server>/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/<site name>/viewers/<viewer name>/virtualdirectory/Config/Viewer.xml

The rest endpoint URL is short like: http://<server</Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites/SPAEnterpriseViewer.

Is there a way to set the viewer's URL to something shorter or does that long path indicate a problem with the softwares installation on the server?
