Exclude Text Markup from Markup Extract module

The Extract Markup to Shapefile module currently extracts text markup as a single point.  Users are expecting text to be extracted.  My understanding of the situation is text markup has no spatial reference so it cannot be extracted as text. 

Therefore, I would like to request that text markup be completely excluded from the extract process because the point that is extracted in its place is confusing to the users of the site.
