    Hi Josh,

When you publish a report to a layer in your site, it gets an ID.  So, if the URL to your report's REST endpoint is:

    (http://sampleserver1.geocortex.com/geocortex/essentials/rest/sites/Charlotte/map/mapservices/Charlotte/layers/3/reports/1) http://sampleserver1.geocortex.com/geocortex/essentials/rest/sites/Charlotte/map/mapservices/Charlotte/layers/3/reports/1

The Map Service ID is "Charlotte", the layer ID is "3" and the report ID is "1".

    Regards,

    -Malcolm

    Hi Josh

the Report Id is the id of the Report (within the associated layer) as found in the REST Endpoint of the site.

Click on the link to it in the REST Manager

    /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e88FsEAI

and then navigate to the approriate layer / Report and view the RESTdescription

    /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e88B8EAI

The id's can be seen in the image above.

    Thanks

    Ralph

Hi Malcolm and Ralph.  Thanks for the quick replies and that does make sense to me but unfortunately I still get the below error even after making the appropriate change.  I've tried to clear my cache to see if that is the issue but no luck.

    /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e88FxEAI

    /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e88DeEAI

    /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e88G2EAI

    Hi Josh

so the next question then is the Layer Id 0 the one that that report is configured against?

    Hi Ralph,

I believe so.  The steps I took were:

    1) I took a copy of the MailingLabels.rpx file and renamed it

    2) I then modified each DataField in this new rpx to use a Field from my mapservice layer

    3) I then saved the rpx and using Geocortex Manager, I added this new report to the appropriate layer and saved the site.

    4) I tested the report itself by opening the website, activating the report tool under Tasks menu, and manually selecting a study area.  A report was generated

After making your and malcolm's suggestion below using the proper ID this time, I still get the error.  Are you thinking it has to do with the way I manipulated the original rpx file?

Got it working.  My Map Service ID was incorrect.  I just needed to use the ID that was coming from the Geocortex Rest service similar to the Report ID.  Thanks everyone.

    Hi Josh

got interrupted in replying before you sorted it. Glad you got it sorted.

Like a meal recipe even simple ingredients mixed in the wrong way will give a bad meal.  ;-)
