Mailing List Report .RTF file vs .PDF
Greetings,
I created a report for mailing labels to use the Avery 5360. I set all the correct sizing in the report designer, worked well when I export to a .PDF (everything fits and looks nice). My issue is when I export to a .RTF file the spacing changes (I have opened up the .RTF in Microsoft Word, WordPad) and it no longer fits the Avery template. Has anyone else had experience with this? or a solution.

Since your post was about 6 months ago, I imagine that you've got this figured out by now. But I thought I'd respond anyway - maybe someone else will benefit from my response.
I had the same issue and couldn't find any solution in the Help. What solved my problem was altering the margins for the report. In Report designer, click on File, then Report Settings. The default margins were too large for printing on an Avery 5160 Label template. The following numbers work for this template:
Top & Bottom margins = 0.5, Left margin = 0.25, Right margin = 0.16, Gutter = 0.01

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't seen the margin settings before. Maybe you can help with this one. When I use PDF, I can set the Detail height to be 1 inch, and it works out fine. When I try that in RTF, the label height spacing is less than one inch. I find that I have to set the detail to around 1.087 inch to get it to line up properly, but then I lose the last row of labels.

I've been struggling with the same issue. I know this is an old post, but the PDF vs. RTF setting issue seems to persist. I can't find the magic height required for RTF to make the labels line up.
If anyone else sees this feed and has suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them.

I use Avery 5160, and here are the margins I use:
Top - 0.50
Bottom - 0.00
Left - 0.19
Right 0.19
Gutter - 0.00
Report Print Width - 8
Detail Height - 1.024
I know you're using a different format, but along with the margins you might want to try adjusting the width and height.0 -
Thank you for the reply John, I tried those margins and they work for my PDF format, but not for RTF unfortunately. Thank you for responding though, I found your reply in a different post and it was helpful with my PDF report.

I think I probably copied John for mine, since they are the same, except that I have 1.029 for Height. If you email me I can send you one of mine. mhargreaves@srcity.org In the next reporting release, it sounds like they will include mail label templates, which will be nice... 0
