File Open Dialog Question
Hi Everyone,
I downloaded the "Attachment Manager Workflow with File Open Dialog " from the Code Gallery and am trying to get the File Open Dialog task to work in my Workflow Designer. I have the standalone version of the designer on my computer(Ver. 2.15.1.21). According to the readme I should be able to place the DLL in my Workflow Designer folder and then the task would be available to me to add to my workflows. I have tried and am not getting the task to show up. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know how to fix it.
Thanks

Hi Rob
what is the path of the directory that you put it in? From my experience there ends up being two directories to put it in,
one for use in the designer
C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\Workflow Designer
and one for the GE REST application
C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\REST\bin
Also did you do this before starting the workflow designer?
Regards
Ralph

Hi Ralph,
The standalone version of the Designer sits in a folder on my desktop, so that is where I put the DLL. I also tried it out on our server where our Geocortex software sits and put it in both places as described in the readme file. Neither instance is working.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

I also have the exact same problem as Rob. I am hoping I can get this to work and then tweak it enough so I can start having users add their own shape file, so I can actually do something with it.

I am still stuck on this. Can anyone provide more information on maybe why the activity is not showing up in Workflow designer?

This should certainly be working with the versions of the software you are running. You should see the task right at the bottom of the list, under 'Viewer Custom'. Please check that the .dll has not been blocked, as this can easily happen to assemblies downloaded from the Internet.
To check if this is the case, right click on the .dll, choose 'Properties...', and you should immediately see a message that the .dll has been blocked, and a button to unblock it. This is the most likely cause if the .dll is in the folder, and there is no error raised when loading Workflow Designer.

Thanks for the response Jonathan. I looked into your suggestions and still nothing is showing up in Designer. I didn't get any message in the .dll properties about it being blocked either. I am opening workflow designer from C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\Workflow Designer, where my .dll resides, and I do not get an error either in Designer upon opening.
Any further thoughts on this? I'd really like to get this working.
thank you

Thanks Jonathan. That was my problem. The DLL was blocked. Once I unblocked it, everything shows up in my Workflow Designer like you say it should. Now to try and use it.
