Unable to save project

Using GE 3.9, SLV 1.5, Windows 2008R2

The project save function from the Silverlight viewer gives an error when trying to save a new project. Has anyone a clue what can be wrong?

Already tried: 

 

-Set all security settings to Modify on complete REST directory for user ESSENTIALS and ESSENTIALSADMIN ( applicationpool  identities)

 

-Reinstall new instance of Essentials

 

-Looked in projects directory:   no files saved at all.

 

-Looked with processmonitor ( microsoft ):  the REST webapplication does write a projectfile , but deletes it in the end of the process

  Hi,

  After further investigation the issue here seems to be that we have security turned on for the site.  As soon as I turn security off the Save Project works.  This is quite a dilemma as the straight forward security setup seems to be one of the benefits of the product and I would hate to have it be a choice of one feature or the other.

  Hi,

   Thanks for the report, I have filed this and we hope to address this issue in a future version of the Viewer.

  This sounds a bit like a known issue where if you have two layers in your mapservice in different group layers with the same name _and_ they use a different case, project files cannot be saved.

  For example, if I had a layer named 'lakes' and a layer named 'Lakes' in a mapservice I would not be able to save project files.

  Unfortunately the only workaround right now is to rename one of the layers and re-serve the mapservice.
