Export map to Stream base64

Is it possible to export a map to a base64 encoded stream and then POST this to a service ?

The Geocortex silverlight viewer is called from a website with some parameters and the user then collect some information and these are send back to the website. Then i like to send a picture of the result on the map back to the website.

I know i could be done by the "Export map" task and the upload the picture from the server and then send it as a stream. But this will slow the process quite a lot.
