favicon implmentation?

Can a Favicon and Apple Icon be implemented with the HTML5 viewer?

So far I have added these links to index.html with no luck...

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico">

<link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="/apple-touch-icon.png">

Additionally, the site is secured and after adding the favicon link above the login dialog is stretched to the width of the screen.

Any advice?
