Alter appearance and/or clear buffer markup

Is there any way to change the buffer markup from that terrible transparent red, or at least completely clear the buffer markup from the map once the buffer/query sequence has run in a workflow?

  There isn't currently an option for changing the default color for buffer markups, but you can use the RunExternalCommand activity in the Workflow designer and use the command "ClearMarkupQuiet" for the CommandName parameter. This will clear all markup drawings from your map silently (no user prompt like the Clear All Drawings tool on the toolbar).
