The order of the “Global search” results,
The order of the “Global search” results,
I’m wondering if there is a way to set the order of the results of the “global search” in terms of the values of which layer are displayed first.
For example, in my case, two layers (communities and facilities) are set to have “global search”. What I wanted is to have the values of the “communities” first then the values of “facilities” as the global search is applied.

Hi Jamal,
Unfortunately it is not possible to order the results of the global search. Global search uses the ArcGIS Find task, and the Viewers will simply display the results in the order they are returned from ArcGIS Server. If you switch to Table View instead of List View, you can see the results grouped into tabs based on what layer they belong to, which might make it easier for the end user to visually separate which results come from which layer, but unfortunately you still won't be able to control the order of the tabs.

Thanks Victoria.
This behavior is not limited to the “search box”. If the “identify” is used, again the order is random.
In the ArcGIS Web Applications for the Microsoft .NET Framework (ADF), the order is controlled by the order of the layers in the mxd (and then in its service). Why this is not applicable in the Geocortex?
