Edit Geometry Command?
Is there a way to utilize the EditGeometry tool from the EditToolsRegion Tool/Menu in a workflow? Our PM wants everything workflow driven, and therefore using the full tool suite via the toolbar is not an option. I've already written my own edit attributes, copy, and delete tool... now I just need to be able to modify the geometry of the selected feature.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Ryan

Sorry to re-post this, but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or better yet a working solution.
thanks!

Hi Ryan
sounds like you have aready written evrything but modifying the geometry of a graphic.
How about just letting the user capture a new geometry and update the existing feature with that geometry? The existing geometry could be there as markup to give the user guidance on what 'was' there.
Sounds crude but it might be enough to satisfy your needs.

Thanks for the idea Ralph. Not sure if that is going to fly as some of the geometries are being originally created from other features, and the ones digitized can be fairly involved. I'll certainly present it as an option. My best possibility right now is perhaps limiting the Toolbar to just the Edit Geometry button, and opening that Tab and the Advanced Toolbar via Workflow. It's ugly, but it gives them an option I guess. Anyway, thanks for the thought, I'll certainly keep it in mind.

I know it's been over a year, but did you ever figure this out? 0 -
It doesn't look like it. It's fairly simple functionality and I can't find a command anywhere which invokes editing the geometry by itself. For example we don't want to edit anything but the geometry. No attribute editing at all. Time to post a question. 0 -
Hi Matthew,
Did you got an answer to your question yet? I'm wondering about the same thing also.0 -
Hi folks,
At this time we have no plans to implement a workflow-driven geometry editor.
I recommend posting an Idea to our Ideas section or contacting your account manager to discuss alternatives.
